It has been a week with the Amsoil 10w40 and the sound is totally gone! I have even tried driving the car for 2 hrs straight and still shows no sign of lifter noise, there was an obvious power gain and gas consumption improved a bit, it is now so much more fun driving that 4.2 V8, feels like the engine just woke up again!! woohoo!!

Also new is the ultra-high performance (and at $66,000 So it's a 4.2 V8 with an AMD remap running over 350BHP, and look what it can do: Done a few thousand miles now and regularly manage 30-34mpg on a run, amazed at the fuel consumption. Significantly better than my old E39 M5, M3, Scooby etc - in fact it's as good as my Focus ST2!!!
